Solarcentury in ‘top 100’ clean technology companies in the world
This is the third consecutive year the UK’s leading solar energy company has been included in the Global 100. Over recent years, Solarcentury has expanded into Italy, France and Spain with a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential solar power products.
The Global Cleantech 100 is produced by the Cleantech Group, providers of global market research for the cleantech industry, and selected by the world’s cleantech experts. It lists the most promising private clean technology companies which are the most likely to make the most significant market impact over the next five to ten years.
Derry Newman, CEO, Solarcentury said: “Solarcentury designs and supplies innovative solar power products and systems for buildings, something we believe essential for the new green economy. We are delighted that we have been selected for the Global cleantech 100 for the third consecutive year. We have invested in new products and new markets even in the face of the recession and kept faith with the opportunity presented by the new cleantech market. Our award winning solar tile range, our fully integrated Energy Roof and the range of systems and services we offer the industry continues to expand in this exciting market “
The Global Cleantech 100 confirms growth in the renewable energy sector, which was recently hailed as the backbone of the green economy. The sector is set to help deliver the multiple goals of the new government from energy security to jobs and C02 reduction.
“The third Global Cleantech 100 shines a spotlight on which companies and which technology areas the global innovation community is currently most excited about, from a commercial standpoint,” said Richard Youngman, MD, Europe & VP, Global Research at Cleantech Group.
The complete list of 100 companies is being unveiled today at Cleantech Forum New York. Some of the companies will be showcased in New York today, others at the Guardian’s Cleantech Summit in London on 23 November 2010.
